Para - Aminobenzoic Acid is part of the coenzyme tetrahydro folic acid. PABA is used by the body
to improve protein (amino acid)
utilization, formation of red blood cells and helps maintain intestinal
flora. PABA has been linked to hair growth and helps people
suffering from vitiligo, over pigmentation of skin or without pigment
in some spots.
Excessive levels of PABA are stored in the body and may
cause liver damage. Toxicity and symptoms include. Nausea,
Skin Rashes and Vomiting.
Para Aminobenzoic acid is best taken with Vitamin C and the B group vitamins plus folic acid.
PABA effects the ability of sulfa drugs to do their job.
Food sources of PABA include liver, kidney, brewer's yeast,
molasses, whole grains, mushrooms, eggs, and spinach. Para -
Aminobenzoic acid is also produced by intestinal flora.
