Vitamin B3 also known as Niacin, Nicotinic Acid,
Niacinamide and Nicotinamide.
Niacin is a water
soluble vitamin that is part of the B-Complex
family. Niacin is manufactured by the body from Tryptophan when supplies of Vitamin
B1, Vitamin B2 and Vitamin B6 are sufficient to
maintain the process. Vitamin B3 is essential for the synthesis of sex
hormones (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone)
as well as cortisone, throxine and insulin.
Necessary for healthy nervous system and brain functions.
Aids in promoting a healthy digestive system, alleviate
gastrointestinal disturbances. Helps with healthier looking skin, eases
severity of migraine headaches and helps increase circulation and
reduce high blood pressure.
Recommended dosages are men 18 mg and women 13 mg but most supplements
use 100 mg. Please check labels. Doses larger the 200 mg can cause
flushing and blood pressure drop. Best used with a B - Complex and Vitamin C.
