Branch Chain Essential Amino Acid Valine |

Valine like Leucine and Isoleucine is a Branch Chain Amino Acid (BCAA) and an Essential Amino Acid. Valine is a glycogenic amino acid that promotes mental vigor, muscle coordination and emotional calm. It is essential for the prevention of nervous and digestive disorders. Valine has shown very positive results when used by athletes for muscle growth, tissue repair and energy. Suggested RDA for Valine is 10mg/kg of body weight per day. Best results are obtained when valine is taken in conjunction with the other BCAA s. It is best to maintain a balance between branch chain amino acids of 2 grams of leucine and valine for each gram of Isoleucine. I have also read suggested ratios of 5 grams of leucine, 4 grams of valine and 2 grams of Isoleucine per day for athletes primarily for bodybuilders. Protein Supplements The importance of protein supplementation is critical to any individual looking to build and maintain muscle mass. Protein has been called "the building blocks of life," and without proper protein supplementation the task of building and maintaining muscle mass is next to impossible. The biggest problem that's faced with the consumption of protein by way of whole foods is mostly convenience. I like to take my protein or meal replacement with me to the gym and mix it up after my work out to get my post work out meal. It is of vital importance to get nutrients into your blood stream as quickly as possible after your work out to optimize your size and strength gains. By using protein supplements you quickly consume and digest needed amounts of proteins to help you grow and recover from your workout.
