Creatine
Boosts Brain Power
You probably know that creatine
is a very effective supplement for building skeletal muscle and
increasing strength. Recently published research shows that it may also
be effective at building another muscle, your brain.
In this study, researchers had
subjects take either 5 grams of creatine
monohydrate or a placebo supplement daily for 6 weeks. Tests to measure
intelligence and memory were performed before and after the study.
Test results indicate improved
intelligence and memory scores among
subjects supplementing with creatine. The researchers conducting the
study stated that the improved scores are due to creatine acting as a
source of fuel for the brain.
These results suggest that in
addition to helping you become bigger,
faster, and stronger, creatine monohydrate can also help you become
smarter too.
